JKM Reunion with Hendricks, Left hand surgery

On Sunday, July 7, President and Sister Hendricks gave a Jamaican Kingston Mission reunion fireside in the chapel near Heather's house.  We had her resrve it when they let us know they would be in Utah for a grandson's baptism.  It was fun to see senior missionaries and youg ones that we had served with - some of the young ones had two children!!
We thought the Relief Society room would be cosy and there would not be many there - and we were right!  Sister Whitehead lead the singing, one of the wives of the young elders played the piano.
Elder and Sister Smith

Elder and Sister Shafermayer - they have moved to St. George from North Salt Lake.
Elder and Sister Wright - they moved from Idaho Falls to Springville.
Elder and Sister Larson - they live in Parawon.
President Scott and Sister Marian Henricks

On the Tuesday after the reunion I had my left hand operated on.  Here are the pretty flowers Polly sent and Dad got for me - yes - they did make me feel better!
My last teo fingers are contracted and that doesn't allow me to lay my hand down flat - or clap or pick up things without dropping them sometimes!
Back view -  kind of sucks to get old and have your body parts begin to malfunction!! Glad for good medical care and talent that can try to correct this!
Stitches - I told Dad - if it was Halloween I would hand the treats out with this hand!!!

August 19th - I was released by the hand doctors - yay!  no more appointments - I think the scar is doing well - thanks Polly for the magic oil to help it!
I still wear a brace at night to help the fingers stay straighter - maybe for another few months - but it's nice to be able to wash my hands, clap, pick up things, etc.  We are blessed with modern medicine and faith in healing!!
