Stefan and Kacey drove for 15+ hours from Wenatchee to Provo - sure happy they arrived safely! Stefan was pretty sore and tired - they got here just after midnight - left Wenatchee around 9:00 am.
We put the picnic table in the front of the house in the shade - the back of the house gets the afternoon sun and is too hot! Cute grand daughters eating their Hawaiin Haystacks!
Adults in the kitchen, Eli drove his family to our house so he gets to sit at the adult table!!
Stefan leaving two of his beautiful daughters - Sydney will go back to Vegas on Sunday early afternoon.
Sadie and Reid on the front lawn - so fun to have family parties - Polly and Chris were helping a friend and we missed having them with us!
Our sweet neighbor came over and took pictures for us!
Kacey's new room - she let each of the Fairbanks cousins choose a stuffed pet from her box - notice the cute curtains - we'll have to post more pictures when she is finished unpacking.
Cute mini-cooper car - cuter Kacey new owner of said car!!

Georgia and Millie Birthday Party
On Sunday, August 18th, we drove to Bountiful to help Georgia and Millie celebrate their birthdays that are later this week. Millie will be four on the 20th and Georgia 6 on the 23rd...cute cake! Cuter Girls!!
Fun to have cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparens to help celebrate. Dan set up this canopy in their front yard - the dog is in the back and also the afternoon sun!
Fun to have Kroebers come up also - - the Bountiful and Salt Lake Fairbanks families have driven to Utah County for years - now the Utah County family can drive to Bountiful - well worth it!
Millie and Georgia liked their presents - they only opened ones from the grandparents - they will each have another party and open more on their birthdays - lovely time was had by all!

Utah County Fair
We heard on the radio about the Utah County Fair - in the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds - free admission, free parking - so we went Thursday afternoon..August 15th. It was actually kind of lame - but I guess you get what you pay for, right> Mostly 4-H and FFA - which is okay - fun to watch the kids with their animals.
Goat judging - we watched the sheep and steers being groomed, washed, blow dryed, etc. to get them ready for showing.
Three little pigs!
Turkey with a pretty bad photographer!
Better picture.
Star Wars legos - pretty amazing.
More amazing legos.
Awesome - how do they keep them together when moving them? glue?
I liked that they had set up a table with legos for anyone to come and play on!!

Jamaican Independence Day!
On Saturday, August 10th - we were invited to a Jamaican Independence Day party - it was at a park in Vineyard - west of Orem. Jody invited us and it was fun to spend some more time with her. Sister Sheryl Medley, from Kingston was visiting Utah to do temple work and it was delightful to see her again.
We enjoyed 'real' rice and peas and jerk chicken - Jamaica has some delicious food!!

Dam Jam - August 9-10, 2019
Cute Sadie and Olivia selling Dam Jam tee shirts !
Tait entertaining Reid on the blanket at the Dam Jam.
Darling granddaughters wearing sunbonnets! plus a friend of Julie's.
So nice to have a circle of family and friends to just sit and chat - Quilt that Julie made for the 20th Jam in the background.
Annabelle had a fan club! The little ones followed her around and loved 'playing' with her! Ben put up a small tent for her to sleep in and Thia called it the 'baby' tent!!
Lindsey brought this blue blow up 'couch' thing - the kids had a blast on and in it!
All the wonderful grand children who were there - Thia, Kroebers and Fairbanks!
All the wonderful children and spouses who were there - lucky us!
We love the Old White Church - and the Dam Jam!
Tait and the old pump - thanks Stan and Julie for helping us all to enjoy Blue Grass Music and the beautiful Rockport State Park!

Provo City Center Temple
We have been called as Provo City Center Temple workers - we are excited and a little nervous about it. Derrell and LaNore, Sue and John, Tom and Jean, Janice and Wayne have all done it - so we think we can!!
Are shifts are Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning ... most couple only do one a week, but the Temple Presidency asked if we could do two - and we can - at least for now. Interesting that shortly after Fairbanks move to Bountiful and we have a little more time - we get this calling!!

Preston Rodeo - Tabneracle Choir - Church
The Famous Preston Night Rodeo is a lot of fun ... especially with Derrell and LaNore. I like these Princes and Queens all riding their horses and looking beautiful!
The old wagon was pulled by these six horses - they turned it around and backed it up - lots of skill in men and horses. Derrell and LaNore joined us in staying the night in Brigham City - too late to drive all the way home and we wanted to attend the Tabneracle Choir broadcast in Salt Lake Sunday morning.
So cool to be in the Tabneracle with Derrell on our 74th birthday - August 4th, 2019. Sterling and LaNore were happy to have the Orchestra at Temple Square participating in the broadcast - last time they came it was only the choir -which is good but much better to have musicians -especially to LaNore who is musically talented. Sterling plays the piano and violin also.
Derrell, Lanore and Sterling in the Conference Center after the broadcast.
We drove to Sandy and attended the Sandy First Ward - our old home ward for 25+ years! I bore my testimony and the only person to come up to talk to us was Marvin Kunz - a friend from Jordan High School! The ward is a stake center now - Sandy West Stake.
In front of the church - so many changes - and happy memories.
Not too bad for being 74 years old!
I think we are two years old here - pretty cute!
Maybe four or five? Granny cut an angel cake in half and turned each of our half on end for our shared birthday cakes! Our Lehi house front yard. Gramps built the picket fence - Granny told me she looked out and I was balancing on the top rail not holding on to anything - Derrell was on the bottom raid, holding on to the fence!
I think we are six here - teeth missing and all! This is in our Sandy house - kitchen...love the wallpaper! We always got new school clothes and shoes for our August birthday!

Jody Birthday lunch - Preston Parade - Aug 3rd
We drove to Salt Lake and took Jody out to lunch - it was her birthday. In Ocho Rios we celebrated by going to the beach - since my birthday is the 4th. One of these days we will do that again!!
After our lunch in Salt Lake we headed to Preston, Idaho to meet Derrell, LaNore and Sterling for the Preston Rodeo and Parade. It was so much fun to be with them...except we are sure looking old!
Missionaries marching in the parade! Lots of candy thrown for the kids at this parade - children ended up with grocery bags full!
Loved the Mission Presient on the wagon and the senior couples also!
Preston High School are the Indians - here the cheerleaders are riding bareback - love it! They all had their hair in braids also.
Preston High School marching band - pretty small but sounded good.
Lots of pick up trucks in the parade - I liked this huge tractor!
Derrell and Harold walking in front of LaNore and Sterling and me as we made our way from the parade route to the Rodeo Arena - note the condition of the sidewalks! pretty in need of repair. Sure love these two men!
