Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Entrance to the AWCC - listing all the animals we could see!  We saw most of them listed.
Sterling and I with a painted bear - safe kind!
Bear behind fence - unsafe kind!
Even closer!
Harold and Sterling with bear.
Cute black bear just posing for pictures.
It was a little windy - the bear didn't seem to mind.
Big bull elk - the cows were in another field across the road and down a little bit.
Map of the Conservation Center - you could drive or walk - we choose to drive.  Lots of space for the animals to be in a naturally occurring habitat.
Bison - way in the back.
Porcupine - way in the front!  He was just walking back and forth on this log so everyone could get his picture!!
Nap time for wolves - middle of the day.
Caribou - large bull in the shed thing - you can just see part of his big antlers.
