Mountain Crest JV Football

Mountain Crest JV Football game - Thursday August 27, playing at Box Elder High School, Brigham City.  Katie had some meetings she was supposed to attend - and talked them into letting her do them by long distance!!  This is after the game - Joel had a 70 yard touchdown run!!!
Proud Grandpa and Happy Joel!!
It is great to be able to watch high school football - pretty day, a little hot but fun to sit with Kate and Anna and catch up with their lives.  Anna had cute pictures of the new kittens.

Provo Summer

Twin bunk beds in the new guest room! We will get mattress covers and twin sheets soon.

Other side of the room has the double bed bottom and twin bed top - come use them!!!

The old guest room is now our computer room!  These pictures have been in the back of the closet and not grace the walls of the room!
Our home office!  At the top right corner are two embroidery pieces Aunt Sue did for our wedding - 54 years ago.  They had their frames broken in some of our moves - Polly had them reframed for our anniversary present.
Our front garden is now attracting hummingbirds!
Our shamrock plant - with pretty pink blooms.
Harvest from our garden this week!  yummy - we shared with neighbors.
The garden - has been fun to have fresh, yummy vegetables.
CA King quilt for a Russian missionary - largest we've done!  Dad is getting good at this!!

Springville Splash Pad

Monday August 24, Lindsey had work meetings in Provo - we were delighted to have the grandchildren and went to the Springville Splash Pad and had lunch and lots of fun!!
With school starting there were not many others there - So fun for the littlest ones!!
Grandpa at the splash pad!

Summer Party at the Williams house!

Great Summer party at Chris and Polly's house after the race - Saturday, August 15.  Polly and Chris actually met us in a parking lot before the race and took the kids to their house while Lindsey and Dad and I ran the race  ... will - Lindsey ran, Dad and I shuffled!
Delicious burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, tomato/cucumber/onion salad, watermelon, chips - so fun!
Polly and Chris got this stock pond to use as an above the ground swimming pool.  Their dogs love to cool off in it!  Chris cleaned it and the Fairbanks kids took over - along with floaties and squirk guns!
Olivia and Sadie had their mermaid tails on - water is fun!
At first the dogs were kept in their cages - Reid would go over and talk to them!  When they were let out they behaved very well!!  One actually climbed the slide into the pool!
Another view of the yummy picnic and delightful people around it!  Chris is a good chef!!
Dog shaking off the water after getting out of the pool.
Sweet Reid had a nap in mind - you can only have so much fun when you are one year old!!!

Provo Canyon to Pleasant Grove 5K

Two old people thinking the could run a 5K - August 15, 2020.  I ran the Deseret News and St. George Marathons the year I turned 50 - so now being 75 wanted to do one more competitive race.  Dad was a good sport and went along!  Many were cancelled this year - the Provo 4th of July was my first choice - anyway here we are - Saturday morning - 8:00 am.  Cool that my race number was 675!
Lindsey wanted to ran the Fourth of July also - so she joined us for the PC to PG race.  She is so much faster than we were - but we all had a good time.  Lindsey was second in her age group - out of four ladies.
Dad was first in his age group - so was I - both 1 out of 1!!!  You don't have to get faster, just older!  and keep running!!

Fairbanks visit Provo!

Georgia, Briella and Millie at the Springville splash pad - Fairbanks came to visit Wed. night, Thursday most of the day - so much fun to have grandkids to play with!  This statue with running water hose is a favorite of all the little ones.
Millie and Tait with the same statue - so fun!  Tait didn't bring his swimsuit so we used his shorts!
The only picture I got of Keenyn - at least his back as he is running away!! Sadie in pink also.
Millie, Sadie and cute Reid - he loved it!
Everyone but Keenyn and Olivia - they are older and off doing their own thing!!  Happy Smiles!!
Tait joined Reid on the mini tramp outside after our picnic breakfast.
Reid took one part of his waffle and wanted to jump on the trampoline!
Grandpa made waffles for everyone - Tait said he wanted to eat outside - great with us!
Millie would 'frost' her waffle with cool whip, then add berries and then syrup - yummy!
Breakfast at the picnic table - it was a little cooler but wonderful to be outside!
Dear GRAND children - so much fun.  Love that Reid spilled his plastic cup of milk - I was a little late bringing out the sippy cups!  None of you other families ever spill milk, right?  Remember our rating scale for how many affected - a one, just the table - here the ground...a two - the kid sitting next to the one spilled and the table, floor, 3 and so forth - our record was 8 in the van on vacation!!!
The line up!  They always want to watch TV and since we never do - it is okay with us!!

Chris and Polly, Colleen and Craig, Kayla and Ryan, Harold and Dianne, and Becky.  Dad wore a white shirt and tie to the actually marriage ceremony earlier - then went home and changed!!
Cutting the Cake - Amber - Colleen's older daughter made it!
Notice the pheasant feathers in the bridal bouquet - and on the tables.  Craig said Kayla was saving them to use in the wedding and her dog found them and destroyed some!  She got others!
Handsome Happy Groom - Beautiful Bride!

Craig after walking Kayla down the isle.
Nice display - All because two people fell in love!  On the left - Ryan's parents and grandparents.  On the right Kayla's!!
Ryan''s parents and grandparents.
Kayla's parents and grandparents.
Fun venue with rustic decor - deer antlers and pheasant feathers on the tables.
As I was getting ready to attend - I thought of how much Granny would have loved to come ... then I had the feeling - she will be there in spirit.  Kayla decorated with this old typewrite and Granny loved her typewriter!! - special tender mercy I think.

Birthday gifts and Kacey and Shelby's new apartment!

Shelby played volleyball with the little cousins - Tait can really punch it back to her!!  Lindsey took Olivia to her first practice and ended up coaching the team!!  Shelby played in high school and will give her lots of helpful tips!
Beautiful Shelby and Kacey Fromm and their new stariwell to their new apartment.
Emilee and Ben sent me this fun yummy box - from different countries - this one from Thailand.
Jennie and Jason sent beautiful flowers - and notice the other cards on the table.  Polly and Stan gave me such generous gift cards to JoAnn's - I'll be sewing until next birthday!  Kate gave me a very smelly lavendar sachet - and hand knit - misshapen dishcloth!  Lindsey and Dan - a dinner gift card - yum! Thanks all for the great birthday- love you all.
