Trip to CO for Faye's Baptism

Thursday evening Dan brought Olivia and Sadie from the cabon on his way home - he wanted to work all day on Friday.  We left early Friday morning to drive to Colorado for Faye's baptism.  Olivia and Sadie had so much fun with Faye at Sam and Allie's wedding they wanted to go with us.  We had some snow and wet roads almost all the way - but Harold is a good driver and we did just fine.  After passing Glenwood - almost to the Vail Pass - we noticed a highway sign that said:  "Vail Pass Closed - unsafe conditions."  Oh No!  we were so sad - Olivia and I cried.  We thought of stayng close and seeing if the pass opened in time for us to make the baptism at 10 the next morning...Harold thought we ought to just head for home.  We called and got a motel in Grand Junction and spent a sad evening getting there.  The above picture is of the mounatins as we drove back to Utah.  Luckily we thought of having Heather facetime the baptism program - and she did!  We were at least able to see Kurt and Faye and even feel a little of the spirit of a baptism - sigh.
We had gifts for Faye and upon getting back to Provo - we put them in a box and headed for the Post Office - so she could get them as soon as possible.  Here we are in the Provo Post Office with the box ready to mail.  Then we got in the car and headed for Bountiful to take Olivia and Sadie home - low and behold - I-15 at Lehi Main Street was closed!! what - both sides of the freeway.  There had been a BYU Basketball home game earlier and the alternate routes were blocked and backed up for 3 - 4 hours!  So again we turned around and had another sleep over at Grandma's house!  A propane truck had wrecked and authorities were afraid of an explosion and the freeway was closed for 10 hours!
Sunday morning we drove to Bountiful and enjoyed Church with the Fairbanks family!!
