Janice has a Birthday!

March 21st, 2020 - Janice has her 83rd Birthday!  We were happy to share chocolate cake and yummy mint ice cream with her and Lori and Wayne.
Lori only found the 8 and the 0 candles - so we made do!  We are blessed with wonderful extended family - on all sides!

Ream's Grocery Store - Springville, Utah

In this coronavirus mess there is hope and healing!  We went to pick up some groceries and found the men outside putting up these signs...so helping!

We will all get through this craziness and be better for it - I hope and pray!  They opened a line in the store only for seniors - thanks so much!  We hadn't noticed and were standing in another line and a sweet lady come over and said - please come down to check stand number 8 - so we did!

Stan, Julie and Thia visit Provo

March 17, St. Patrick's Day we had special visitors to our house in Provo - Stan, Julie and Thia!  Thia was throwing these balls to Kacey and Shelby sitting on the couch!  Such a fun little girl.  Julie said when they pulled up to our house Thia said:  The big bad wolf can't huff and puff and blow down Grandma's house - it is made of bricks!!
Thia told me - We have been camping in the desert!  That's quite a difference from camping in Montana!  Stan found that their motel in Moab was not letting anyone stay who wasn't a local - so they decided to drive home to Montana.
We are sure happy that they had time to stop and visit for about an hour!  Luna enjoyed our newly fenced back yard - thanks to Chris Williams!
We love any minutes spent with our children and grand children - especially those who live so far away!  Stan told us that Thia asked him if he would be a grandpa when she had babies!!!

Shelby's 19th Birthday

Monday, March 16th - Shelby's 19th Birthday!  She is holding Tait Fairbanks, and Scooter her cat.  We are so happy we get to celebrate with her and the Williams, Kroebers and Fairbanks.
Such cute people!  and Cat!  and Balloons!!
Heidi sent me the recipe for Shelby's favorite dinner - Chicken Shepherd's Pie - I'm sure mine weren't as good as Heidi's - but everyone liked it!  Corn dogs for the little ones!
Not sure what happened - it was warm enough we got out the picnic table and people were having a good time eating out on the patio ... you'll have to trust me on that!!
Shelby blowing out the token candle on her ice cream cake!
Beautiful granddaughters!  We had lots of fun.

Shelby reading her Birthday Card from Hawaii... wish we could celebrate with each family member!

We got balloons and I made cupcake cones for the kids - such fun!!

Olivia's Talent Show, Hobblecreek Canyon

Monday afternoon, Olivia was in her school's talent show - here are Tait and Dan, and Millie, waiting for the show to begin.  Grandpa is in the car with sleeping Reid!
Olivia did great - she played a piano solo of a piece that she wrote!  She is much more talented at the piano than Grandma is at taking Marco Polos!
 Siblings are the best!
Also Parents!!  Dan taped the performance so Lindsey will be able to see it!
We frosted cookies back at their house.  Sure love seeing our old family table and chairs being so appreciated and loved!
Cute Reid in his high chair...he will be one year old March 27th!!
Sunday afternoon we drove to Springville and up Hobblecreek canyon - this is left fork and there are so many huge mansions built up there now!

Walking in our neighborhood on Monday, March 16th - we found this rat in the gutter.  It was not all the way dead, just moving a tiny bit.  We called the authorities and they said they would come out and get it!

Utah State Hospital and Hardy's Sandy House

Because of the Corona virus - we are not allowed on the campus of the Utah State Hospital.  No more Sunday meetings (Church wide) no more Monday Family Home Evening, no more visiting with individual patients on our assigned unit - North East.  We are allowed to write letters to them - so we did that today - the Branch President will be able to get them to individual patients.  Here is the front gate - there is a Police car with flashing lights behind the USH sign - and officers stopping each car to see if they are allowed in.
This is the side gate that is usually open and we just breeze right in - 3 minutes from our house!  Not anymore!  At least not until all this craziness gets resolved!  I agree we need to keep people safe - life as we knew it is no more!  I'm getting projects accomplished at home with my extra time - from the hospital and the Temple!
Monday when we picked up the Fairbanks children from around 90th South - we decided to drive over and see Jennie and Jason's old house in Sandy.  This is the left side from the front.
This is from the right side - further away.
I remember taking family pictures on their front porch - blessings of babies, Lindsey home from her mission, etc.  Great memories - great house- greater family!!

Family pictures, fenced back yard! and old Friends!

We have wanted to have pictures of all the families up in our house - we found this frame at D.I. and it was perfect to put each families picture in!  Dad put up a plastic hanger over the door of the water heater closet so we didn't even have to put a nail in the wall!
Beautiful people that we love so much!
We were walking one morning and a house that was being remodeled had pieces of chain link fence for free!  We started doing down the sidewalk holding this piece between us - a nice young man out jogging stopped and asked if he could help - YES!  He took my place for the last block and a half.  Chris Williams gave Dad the fence posts - he was storing them in their garage after they took down an old fence when they built their new one.
Looks nice, huh?  plus now the back yard is all fenced.
This gate piece we put on top of the car and drove slowly home!!  another post holding it in place.

We met Toni Rae Peterson Halladay - from Ellensburg, and her husband Scott for lunch in Sandy.  They live in Woods Cross - so about half way for both of us - so much fun to catch up and renew wonderful friendships.
