Mission Call and Savanna surgery

I ordered these neat scripture cubes for the Easter packages of the children - they are back ordered so they may get them later!
The Walton's have a daughter in Evanston, Wyoming who brings them fresh eggs from her chickens - I told them it looked like the Easter Bunny had colored them - naturally!
Savanna had the rod taken out of her leg - she has it!  Nate drove her up and back and Shelby provided moral support!  We loved having dinner with them - Sav was 'craving Panda Express!'
Polly bought us these cute shirts - we will hope to wear them in South Africa on Preparation days!!

Fun at the Park - full moon coming over the mountain!

This was the view out of our front door on Saturday evening - so pretty!  We have a beautiful world to take care of!
Millie at the park - Tait and Reid are there somewhere!
Boys on the run!
Cute Millie!

Fun in Bountiful!

Polly brought Chris's huge teddy bear for the Fairbanks children to play with on Monday and Tuesday - The kids put it in this tree to welcome Shelby for her birthday dinner!  So Fun!

So funny - that Big Bear bottom on the branch of the tree!  Sadie is so imaginative!!

Shelby is 20!  We had Shepherds pie for dinner, and green jello salad!  Plus chocolate cupcakes and cheese cake for dessert.
Kacey gave Shelby this black lamb for her birthday - very cuddly!
Brother Walton gave me books that his son Rick had written - the kids loved them!  I help the Walton's with lunch a couple times a week - he is 93 and she is 91 - dear people!  Lots of stories of their lives.

Their son died of a brain tumor - he taught creative writing at BYU.  They have a shelf of his books and just gave me them!  dear people.

More Antelope Island

Reid was so cute and intent on cleaning this bin - over and over.  The kids had a great time going through their bins and what a fun Sunday afternoon activity.
Root Cellar in one of the old buildings at the Fielding-Garr Farm and Ranch.
Real horses - Millie was so happy to see real animals.
The oldest Ford tractor I've ever seen!  Must be an ancestor of 'Henry' who lives with the Hardy's in NC!
Bigger and newer tractor - we did let Reid get out and play around after this picture.
Tait driving the old truck!
Sadie and Georgia in the drivers seat. Great to have an adventure with the grandchildren...wish we could with each and every family who we love!  That can be my bucket list!

Antelope Island State Park

Sunday afternoon we needed to go to Syracuse to pick up a quilt for Jody's wedding - Sister Pat Apgood made it for her.  Since we were so close we decided to take the children to Antelope Island State Park.  We had a blast!!

An old rowboat - nice to let the kids play in most of the old equipment.
On the old wagon - Reid not too happy about not being able to climb up!
Shearing pens for the sheep - now the Fairbanks little lambs!!
Bicycle rack with wonderful grandchildren climbing on it.
Visitor Center - we watched a video about the Island - learning a great deal.  This is a chair that is mobile you can rent for hiking the trails with someone who can't walk.
Tait really interested in these bird nests - "Come Grandma, see the egg in the nest."
Metal deer sculpture with the cutest grandchildren near it - nice background scenery.
Buffalo at the entrance - it was really so much fun!

Tending Fairbanks Grandchildren!

Fairbanks on the porch - waving goodbye to their parents
Dan and Lindsey getting in Bob's truck for the ride to the airport - have fun!! Notice the snow on the lawn - good thing they are headed to Hawaii!!
Tait and Reid dancing to Olaf's singing!
The grandchildren making birthday cards for Cousin Shelby - she is coming to celebrate with us.
Polly took the children swimming and shopping and to lunch and back to her house!  Reid loving the giant teddy bear!
Polly put curlers in Millie's hair - she looked so pretty!
Sadie playing with her brothers on the round about chair!  complete with safety belt.
Grandpa made yummy waffles with strawberries for Sunday breakfast. It's fun to use our old table and chairs.

Their old Bishop lives right next door and Sunday morning Olivia said - what is that big thing in the yard?  He had his 50th birthday!

Kroeber's house

Kroeber's are making good progress on their house.  Walls and floors!

Quilting

This dear sister is Emily Blanchard - she served with us in Russia.  She wanted to learn how to make a tee shirt quilt so she brought her tee shirts back to Provo from her home in Southern CA at Christmas break.  Here she is sewing the squares together with black seam tape. Isn't she cute?  I love teaching her.
Here is Emily and Elder Josh Youngs - who served with us also - in Irkutsk - he and Emily are dating.  Also Isabelle Brockbank and her boyfriend Ryan - she was with us in Irkutsk.  Ryan served in France.  Both darling couples helped to tie the quilt together.
Learning how to tie a quilt - the men got pretty good at it!
We had a great time and it turned out awesome!
Emily and Josh - and the great tee shirt quilt!

More February Happenings

This was our view of Timp on our morning walk last week - so beautiful!
Jody Llwellyn from Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  She is engaged to Joseph Smith - and will get married in May!  She was so faithful to come to Seminary every week !  So happy for them both!
Jody with us - she served a mission in Jamaica after we had come home.
See the tulips and daffodils trying to stay warm in the snow!
Our best storm of the whole winter - and we received two in two days!
Enjoyed shoveling with Harold - nice to watch a pretty snowfall.
The whole ward - every house - had these cute hearts put in their front yards the night of Feb. 13th - really made Valentine's Day special.
Several members posted that they had a hard day at work and loved coming home to a sign that reminded them of the real purposes of life!  Each house was affected - member and non-member alike.  Some of the non members have spoken to their neighbors about how they have enjoyed the signs and some are still up!
